The world premiere of Selcen Ergun’s first feature film, Kar ve Ayı (Snow and the Bear), was held in the Discovery Section of the 47th Toronto International Film Festival, where important exploration films are featured. Selcen Ergun was accompanied by the lead actress Merve Dizdar and the cinematographer Florent Herry on the Toronto journey of “Kar ve Ayı”, the only production from Turkey to be selected for the festival.
Merve Dizdar, who made a very successful debut with the character of Gülben in the TRT1 series named Masumlar Apartmanı , made us proud by representing our country abroad with her new film. Merve Dizdar, one of the leading actors of the movie, shared her excitement with these words: “It was a wonderful premiere, it was a great pleasure to watch our movie with the Toronto audience.”
The premiere tickets of the movie, which met with intense interest from moviegoers, were sold out days ago. At the end of the screening of the film, presented by Dorota Lech, chief programmer of the Discovery Department, director Selcen Ergun said, “It is very exciting for me that our film, which we made post-production during the pandemic, finally meets with moviegoers on the big screen.” She expressed her feelings and thoughts in her sentences.
