Famous actor Murat Han was caught by the lenses in City’s Nişantaşı. The successful actor, who joined the series “Teşkilat”, announced that he started sports and dieting to get rid of the weight he gained during the summer season.
Murat Han said, “I like to eat because I am a Taurus, but I will lose 2-3 more kilos and get in shape. I don’t hang out when I am not on set, but being fit is a must when there is work. I am cutting out sugar and carbohydrates, I don’t have a special schedule.”
Murat Han, who is preparing to portray a mafia boss in the series, said, “I am also prone to comedy, but the producers always put me in heavy roles. I have a theater background, I am open to any role. But they don’t give comedy a chance because they think ‘They like you like this’.”
Murat Han, who acted in America for 10 years, also touched on the difficulties he faced abroad. The actor said, “When you are Turkish, you are seen as third class, they give you terrorist or minor character roles. I did a test shoot for the series ‘Homeland’ but the Moroccan casting director eliminated me saying ‘we are looking for an Arab type’. Middle Easterners are not suitable, they do not accept Europeans. I did not go to Hollywood to become famous, I went to gain experience.”
