Famous actors Sevda Erginci and Gökçe Akyıldız duo came together to have dinner and talked about their concerns about the earthquake on the agenda.
With the two major earthquake disasters that took place in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, and aftershocks and new earthquakes in the region, great pains were experienced in Turkey in a 1-month period.
The actors also made great efforts to heal the wounds of this disaster, in which more than 46 thousand people lost their lives, more than 110 thousand people were injured and the lives of millions of people changed in an instant.
Sevda Erginci, who participated in the post-earthquake relief activities, said, “We are as dejected and sad as everyone else. So nobody is good. We did our best. We tried to do a lot of things individually. Everyone is doing it, it’s unbelievable,” she said.
Despite not losing any of her relatives due to the earthquake, the actor was very upset, explaining that there were those who lost their relatives among her friends. Erginci, who took part in the first two seasons of the Yasak Elma (Forbidden Apple) series broadcast on Fox TV, rejoined the team in the sixth season after years passed. Continuing her role as Zeynep in Yasak Elma, the actress reminded that the set team went to the earthquake zone.
For this reason, there was no work in the Yasak Elma series for a long time. Erginci said, “We stopped for a while, then we started again, but when the second earthquake happened, we stopped again. We are not on set right now, we are not working. In any case, after a few days, we will have to return like everyone else,” she said.
Expressing that everyone was very demoralized after this earthquake, the actress said that the Istanbul earthquake was also expected and she was very afraid of it.
Sevda Erginci said, “We are trying to take measures, but it is very difficult. Istanbul is a very complex place altogether. There is an economic crisis, of course. We tell people to check the buildings and evacuate, but people can move to another place as long as their economy is sufficient. Very complicated. I hope we get through these days,” she explained.
Expressing that she sees the helpfulness of the people and that she once again trusts the Turkish people, the actress said that everyone puts forth all their support. The actress said, “This gave me hope. Because in such situations, we come together and protect each other. “We’re still good people,” she said.
Gökçe Akyıldız also expressed that she had the same feelings as her friend Sevda Erginci.
