Netflix’s newest Turkish series, Kulüp, is one of the most talked about TV series in Turkey these days. With its impressive story, successful costumes and decor, the Kulüp series draws attention with its actors, who set the world apart. One of the most remarkable actors of the series is Asude Kalebek, who plays Raşel.
The Kulüp series, starring such ambitious names as Gökçe Bahadır, Fırat Tanış, Salih Bademci, Metin Akdülger and Barış Arduç, mirrors Beyoğlu, which was dominated by minorities of the 1950s. While describing the night life of Beyoğlu in those years, it also draws attention to the living conditions of minorities.
Gökçe Bahadır plays Matilda, a Sephardic Jew who committed murder at a very young age and had to abandon her infant daughter while she was going to prison. The talented actress gives life to a very strong female character in Kulüp, as in her other TV series.
All the acting performances in the series are excellent. Asude Kalebek, the youngest actress among them, manages to show how talented she is in this business with her first TV series experience.
The Kulüp series is the first acting experience of Asude Kalebek, born in 1999. Kalebek, who participated in the stage works at the Istanbul Performing Arts Theatre, still continues her education at Boğaziçi University.
Kalebek plays the orphan Raşel, whose father is dead and abandoned by her mother, in the TV series Kulüp. Raşel, who grew up in an orphanage, is a crazy young woman who can stand on her own two feet and has no fear of anyone. However, her life evolves in a completely different direction when she confronts her mother years later.
