A Turkish hit TV series fined for showing a steamy on-screen kiss has found an innovative way to hit back at the censors by showing an almost kiss, opposition newspaper Cumhuriyet said .
Two characters about to express their passion for one another in the mafia-themed series [The Pith] pulled back from the kiss at the last moment.
“We can’t kiss on camera, they’ll exact a punishment,” the actress playing Sena said, gesturing at the camera.
Broadcasting watchdog [RTÜK] earlier fined the show for an episode in which two actors kissed romantically on screen.
