It is now stated by everyone that one of the best Turkish productions on Netflix is the Kulüp TV series. The first season of the 6-episode series impressed everyone. Starring Gökçe Bahadır, Fırat Tanış, Metin Akdülger, Barış Arduç and Asude Kalebek, the series takes place in the 1950s.
A great effort was spent on the series Kulüp, which touched upon the wounds caused by the wealth tax collected from non-Muslim citizens, which marked that period in Turkey.
İstiklal Street in 1950 was prepared for the Kulüp series, on which a 4 thousand square meter plateau was prepared. A great effort was made for the decor, costumes and accessories of the series.
Sina Koloğlu, one of the writers of Milliyet Cadde, described the Kulüp series as “one of the best works by Turkey so far”.
Sina Koloğlu also revealed the great effort given in the background for the series.
10 tailors worked for the series, in which 3,700 costumes were sewn. The significance of these efforts, which lasted for 24 weeks, is also noticed in the footage of the series.
Gökçe Bahadır took Ladino lessons twice in three weeks during this process. Salih Bademci, on the other hand, received training in singing as a voice lesson 20 times.
When all these factors are considered, it becomes clear how successful the Kulüp series is.
