Kaderimin Oyunu (meaning: Game of My Destiny) series continues to be broadcast on Star TV screens on Friday evenings. The ratings of the series, whose 13th episode is left behind, show that the problems are growing… Although an agreement has been reached with Star TV and producer NGM Media for the second season, the course of the ratings raises doubts about the continuity of this agreement.
The underlying reason for this doubt is that you can see Star TV’s steps to reconnect the audience to itself with the powerful series launched for the next season. Star TV made a deal for the very influential Ay Yapım series called Hanedan. Neslihan Atagül’s lead role in the TMC Film project titled Gecenin Ucunda (meaning: At the End of the Night), the agreements are also complete. In addition, the new TV series Kral Kaybederse (meaning: The King Loses), adapted from the book of the same name by Gülseren Budaıcıoğlu, is also being prepared for Star TV. Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ’s name is also in the lead role.
Star TV aims to increase its viewing rates by broadcasting very ambitious series in the 2022-2023 season. In the last two seasons, the number of serials that the channel has broadcast and been disappointed with has been more than 10… So, the channel management now has to recover the drop in big viewership rates for 2 seasons.
So, can the first season ratings of the series “Kaderimin Oyunu” satisfy Star TV in the next season? At the moment, the only series left in the hands of the channel is the series. Especially due to Akın Akınözü, this series has a very serious following abroad, and it is a project that foreign television channels are also interested in.
The story of the series, in which Öykü Karayel and Sarp Apak take the leading roles, continues effectively. The excitement is high, secrets are revealed one by one and the series progresses fluently. However, despite this positive picture, the ratings falling below the average do not give a good signal at all.
When we consider the 13th episode of the series, while a rating increase was expected, the opposite happened. Because the most crucial point of the story has been reached and there are moments of excitement for the audience. However, the Kaderimin Oyunu, which could be 11th in the all persons category, finished the day in 16th place in the AB. In ABC1, thirteenth place was achieved. If these results continue like this, the probability of the series continuing in the next season will be greatly reduced.
Even if Star TV and NGM Media have agreed for the second season, this deal may be at risk if these ratings drop further. The reason for this is that Star TV has very big plans for the next season and does not want to carry a low-rated production.
Although the second season seems to be guaranteed for the Kaderimin Oyunu for now, the audience should be ready for any outcome. Because no matter how effective the story is, no matter how good the cast, no project can go on without strong audience support.
