The launch of the TV series Kaçış (Escape), starring famous actors Engin Akyürek and İrem Helvacıoğlu, has pleased millions of people. It was also very meaningful that the series, which Engin Akyürek’s ardent followers were eagerly awaiting, was the opening project for the Turkey launch of Disney Plus.
Engin Akyürek felt proud that the TV series Escape, whose story he wrote in 2017, was the opening project of such an important platform. At the same time, the actress, who felt the happiness of scripting her own story, experienced another first in this project in terms of professionalism.
The Escape series, which was shot in Gaziantep as the product of a great effort, also draws attention as Engin Akyürek’s first action project. The story where explosions took place, guns were fired and the action never ended was a very different project for the actor.
Looking at his previous roles, Engin Akyürek explained the difference between Mehmet’s character for himself with these words:
“Everything was difficult. As an actor, I experienced something like this once. This is my first time playing in action business like this. It had to be believable, I was experiencing something else in my acting, and we had to do something above a certain standard. I had a very good experience for myself.”
Explaining that he was very emotional when he watched the Escape series, the actor drew attention to the explosion scenes created with long preparations, “I was very emotional when I watched it. When we shoot the explosion scenes at long nights, people get tired, you say how will it be in cold weather,” he said.
