The first episode of the Kaçış (Escape) series, in which Engin Akyürek, one of Turkey’s most successful male actors, both wrote the story and took the lead role, was broadcast on Disney Plus. The series, which everyone was waiting for with great excitement, was generally liked with its first episode. However, there was one aspect that many people criticized.
Escape, starring İrem Helvacıoğlu and Engin Akyürek, is the first Turkish series of Disney Plus. The digital platform made its opening in Turkey with Escape and made big promotions for the series weeks ago.
The first episode of Escape was watched by many people as soon as it was aired. Most of the comments about the series were positive. However, since only one episode of the series has been aired, viewers are waiting for the next episodes to comment.
Escape, which tells the stories of a group of journalists who secretly crossed the border, falling into the hands of a radical terrorist organization as a result of the raid, and the dramas, changes and escape stories they experienced afterwards, impressed everyone with its scenario. In fact, in the comments they made on social media, the audience stated that they could not focus on the acting because they were so impressed with the story.
The viewers, who stated that they were very nervous while watching the first episode of Escape expressed in their comments that they felt the helplessness, pain and oppression in the difficult Middle East geography with all their nakedness, together with Journalist Mehmet, played by Engin Akyürek.
While Escape received generally positive comments with its first episode, the common negative criticism of the audience was that the first episode took place in completely dark scenes.
While the audience pointed out that the whole episode was shot at night and they couldn’t see anything because of the darkness, there were also those who said that this darkness was suitable for the gloom of the story.
Produced by O3 Medya and Same Film, the story of which was written by Engin Akyürek, the screenplay was written by Ali Doğançay, and the director was Yağız Alp Akaydın, the oppression of Yazidi women in the Middle East is conveyed.
