Prepared to meet the audience on TRT1 screens, the TV series Barbaroslar Akdeniz’in Kılıcı stands out as the most ambitious and highest-budget production of the new season.
During the preparations made for months, both domestic and foreign technical teams worked hard and prepared a great visual feast… The project, which was expected to present important details about Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha’s life, was prepared meticulously.
The trailers of the series starring Engin Altan Düzyatan and Ulaş Tuna Astepe have been shared for a while. In the announcement made by TRT1, it was reported that the first episode of the series will be broadcast on Thursday, September 16 at 20:00.
So far, everything about the series has gone perfectly and the excitement and curiosity of the audience is at a very high level…. However, there is one disturbing detail. You can see in the social media comments and some reviews that the Barbaroslar series is perceived as a pirate series.
Of course, the adventure and piracy aspect of the series may be, but the audience mostly wants to experience that period on the screen. So it has more expectations from piracy and adventure.
There are question marks such as how the story will be and how close it can be to historical facts. In the TV series Payitaht Abdulhamid on TRT1, there was a big problem in this regard and intense criticism was made by historians.
The story of the Barbaroslar Akdeniz’in Kılıcı series will also be followed with great care at this point. Sina Koloğlu, one of the writers of Milliyet, describes the series as a pirate and adventure production. Koloğlu wrote: “This was the first impression while watching. An adventure and pirate series awaits us; ‘Barbaross Akdeniz’in Kılıcı’. Lots of action and visual feast.”
The trailers may not tell much, but they show an important direction. If the series is only based on piracy and adventure, this may be a bad surprise for many viewers who are very curious about that period.
