Tansel Öngel and Hande Doğandemir, who starred in Hayat Bugün (Life Today), answered questions from their fans on Onedio’s youtube channel. The duo, who drew the image of a harmonious couple with the series, had a fun conversation.
Explaining that make-up is permanent on her face for 12 hours a day, Hande Doğandemir explained that for this reason, she could not get rid of acne on her face. The actress said, “Nothing happens, we go to the set again, they are closed. Even if it cannot be closed, we shoot like that, we are human, what should we do?”
Talking about the fact that the set of Hayat Bugün is an unused school building, Hande Doğandemir explained that the art team has turned this place into a real hospital with hard work.
The actress said, “It looks like an old hospital with its texture and experience. Its really lives. Patients come from outside,” she said. Explaining that even the team who came for an interview thought the set was a hospital, they came to the department with the emergency decor wearing a mask, and said that she sometimes felt uneasy as if she was in a hospital.
Tansel Öngel also confirmed his partner’s words and said, “A patient comes to the ED. They think it’s a hospital from the outside, they don’t believe it, our officers have difficulty in convincing them,” he said.
Hayat Bugün is adapted from the American TV series New Amsterdam, as it is known. Tansel Öngel said that he was very surprised when David Schulner, the creator of New Amsterdam, came to visit the set.
The actor said, “When the creator of this business came, he was very surprised, he said it was better than our emergency.”
