Childhood years: Se studied ballet piano and solfege at an early age. She wanted to be an aria artist in her elementary school years. “I was a man-like child, so to speak. All my scars stop. I was terribly mischievous, never liked the color pink, always wearing trousers, short hair and could not stand still. I hated the Barbie doll. For me as a kid, play was about life. For example, I would love to make games for myself and play the work of the people around me. Of course I would inevitably play football. We had a summer residence in Marmara Ereğlisi and my grandmothers in Gemlik. I’ve always been in these two places. They would only let me home around 2 am. I used to dance and was sick of the theater. We would prepare small plays and exhibit it to my mothers. I used to think I’d build a wooden house for my grandfather. So we could stage our plays there. I was a self-taught and self-taught person. Actually, my stage adventure started in elementary school. At that time I even played in the play “Ears of Midas”. I was doing ballet and taking piano lessons. I loved to exhibit something. But there was no such thing as ‘I will be an actor’. I even wanted to be an aria artist. At that time, I was going to ballet one day and solfege and piano lesson another day. My childhood has already passed in Taksim. He enters the class, leaves at noon, goes to the Borsa Restaurant, and the iskender or döner place; I would definitely buy strawberry pie for dessert. When the lunch break was over, I would go back to class. I took a break from all of these in middle school. In high school, I discovered that I was literally a musical patient. ”
Education life: She graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University Art and Cultural Management Department. Music and dance were at the center of her life as well as acting. “‘ I knew all the songs of Mamma Mia by heart. I got back to ballet thanks to some of my musical passion. Then Haldun Dormen had a work at Ekol Drama Art House; I joined him. I was working with another team at that time. At the end of high school, my acting request was completely settled. But I still did not take the conservatory exams. Because I was interested in other branches of art as well as acting. And I put acting on my mind, but since it was necessary to study art, I did a double major and studied both in the Department of Media Communication and Art Management. In Media Communications, I focused especially on photography and video. My aunt is a photographer. I can say that I grew up in his studio. It was the idol for me. In my eyes, she was a woman who had a studio alone and was constantly involved in photography. ”
How did her acting career start? Theater has always been in her life. During the time she entered the university, she also worked with Haldun Dormen and took part in different teams in the theater. “Then there was a team at the university affiliated to my own school, I worked with them for about four years. Then I realized that I wanted to do this job professionally and I was passionate about acting. Then I found myself in New York. I stayed there for five and a half months. While I was continuing to study art, I was spending all my remaining time in the theater. I have added something to myself from different schools on Haldun Hoca. When I got back from there I felt ready to start this business. Precisely at this time, I found myself in the “Sweet Revenge” team. It wasn’t surprising for my parents either, because they knew my inclination for acting. ”
First step into acting: She started her television adventure with the character ‘Simay’, which bhe played in the ‘Sweet Revenge’ series in 2016.
With which project did she shine? She attracted attention with the character “Cansu”, which she portrayed in the “Don’t Give Up My Hand” series.
Personality traits: She is very excited and thrilling not only in her career but also in her relationships with her family and friends. “I always try not to consume quickly and to brake myself. For example, if two of my friends are offended, I immediately intervene and reconcile them. I can’t just stand and wait like that. I think I’m the exact opposite of my mother. She is extremely calm and patient. She leaves everything going. You rarely see her getting angry. I am very excited, both emotionally and logically. People find me very cold before they meet me, and after they do, they are very surprised by my warm-blooded attitude. Also, I can be a little harsh when criticizing myself. As long as it is done correctly, I find the criticisms valuable, especially the opinions of my immediate circle. Other than that, I ignore insulting comments. ”
Personal development: When she was in the third year at the university, she went to New York with an exchange program and participated in many workshops there to improve herself. “I did not take too many lessons in New York, but signed up for the Stella Adler workshop. However, the course was canceled and I attended another workshop. One of my lectures at that time was in the museum. We visited a different part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art every week. There are no galleries in Chelsea that I haven’t seen. Apart from that, I was in the studio where I always attended the workshop, whether I had a lesson or not. I studied the Meisner technique. ”
Social: She enjoys spending time with her family and friends in her spare time. “I make use of a day I want to rest by watching a movie that I have wanted to watch for a long time and reading a book or fleeing somewhere outside the city. I feel rested and calm, especially when I am in nature.
Mindset: She thinks that life treats you the same way you treat people and your surroundings.
What kind of person is she on set? She doesn’t like watching herself very much. “But of course I have to watch to see my mistakes and see what I’m doing so I can make notes for myself. So if there is a problem somewhere, I can fix it and add something to myself. That’s why I’m trying to watch. While watching others, I can neither be too passive nor criticize too much. If I see something, I question myself “Oh… why didn’t they do it like this and they did it like that”. Also, because of my media background, I have good knowledge of areas such as photography and lighting. So sometimes it can be a little tiring. ”
The way she looks at love: “I think love is something that makes a person too stupid to say,” This is love. ” Still, if there is a relationship, we must be able to handle the issue of trust, we must be able to be tolerant, if it is already love, we need to be very good friends first, we must be able to share everything with each other. If these exist, there is love. According to the conditions, all priorities in life can change for me. But when I fall in love, it doesn’t lose the first place. ”
View of life: She prefers to let life flow. “I have the following way of thinking in my life:” If this happened in my life, there is definitely a reason “. If I play in a job that is watched and loved today, it should be like that. And always when something bad happens to myself ‘Okay, don’t hang out. I would say, it will definitely come to a conclusion. When I need to take an important step in life, the opposite is quite clear on important issues and I am a person who knows what she wants. ”
Her attitude to business life: She thinks that in order to be a good actress, she must first work hard and show enough dedication. “There were times when I was very tired and sleep deprived. Which set doesn’t it work? But at such moments, remove my quick vitality and excitement and ‘Calm down. Because this is not an opportunity that everyone gets. Many players come to Istanbul just for this job. He is unemployed for months when necessary, “I tell myself. I think it’s ungrateful to say I’m sick of this profession. Although I am tired, I have a very good job and teammates at the end of the day. Not everyone can do what they enjoy in life. I do what I love. I’m going to the set very happy. The important thing for me is to enjoy what I do. The more I feel, the more successful I feel. However, when it comes to acting, the criterion for success is not limited to personal satisfaction. The audience appreciation is also very important in this regard. There is no end to regret in acting. You add something to yourself with every new character. Screenplay means everything to me. How can I make the audience believe if I don’t believe the world I read? If the story leaves me curious and excited, if it makes me think how to create this character, that story is ok for me. ”
Theater or cinema? They both have a very different place. “Actually I can’t tell. I’m dying for the theater, but I’m also a movie lover. I have always played very fondly in the teams I have been in the theater until now. I would love to play for the future as well. About being a theater audience, I can say the following; You are watching a play and that play has a dynamic, it walks with the reaction it gets from the audience, there is an energy circulation there. So in this respect, theater is an incredible thing. ”
Career plan: She wants to play a role in a good drama movie.
“There is no role I would say never play. Because I believe acting thrives on diversity. I do acting very fondly and willingly. It is far beyond a profession for me. Every day, I go to the set thinking, “What can I add today, where can I look?” I love to explore, experiment, explore and see how this whole process progresses on myself. For myself, I wish this curiosity will never end, my goal is to keep my excitement. ”
Dream of the Future: She wants very much to be able to do her job abroad at some point in her life. I have dreams about abroad, apart from that, “I would like to play with Haluk Bilginer, Genco Erkal and Şener Şen.
Her weakest point: Instability
Her strongest point: Even when she’s demoralized, she keeps laughter from her life.
Concerns: She finds the length of the series duration alarming. “Unfortunately, we have to work long hours nowadays due to the duration of the TV series. This is our biggest problem because even if we have the opportunity to rest, your teams do not. Like everyone else, my wish is that this challenging system will change and the time will be shortened. ”
Who does she admire? Kate Winslet fan “I have watched maybe all the movies she played in. A woman who can take on every role she plays with the same persuasiveness with her looks and stance. I’m a big fan of him. ”
Which movie was she affected by? One of her favorite movies is “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”. “I watched it about 15 times. You know, I’m a Kate Winslet fan. I would love to play Clementine Kruczynski, which she portrays in the film, because she is an unstable, tidal woman. The character Joel Barish, played by Jim Carrrey, erases the memories of Clementine. And it is close to its deletion, “Now we have come to the end, it will end, you will leave from my memory” he says. He replies, “Next time …”. For example, that scene always affects me very much because the emotion is so high. ”
Dream city: New York and Paris of the old, even the movie ‘The Dreamers’
Most influenced artists: “Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning and Jeff Koons are the main ones. I can name many more names, especially modern art. ”
TV series he has followed: ‘Shameless’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Gotham’, ‘Modern Family’ and ‘Narcos’ are some of the series he has followed. She watched ‘Friends’ and ‘Sex and the City’ 20 times.
How is she with social media? She tries to be as active as possible on social media. Social media has become a part of our business. I try to be as active as possible, but I often forget to share things because of the intensity of the set. Social media is a platform where your responsibility increases as your audience grows. While sharing my own work and daily routine, I also try to be sensitive about the issues that need to be a voice. Then I think the platform has achieved its purpose. As with everything else, I think social media should be used in a balanced way. It can push the idea of showing ourselves as someone we are not. ”
