Family: In 2005, she married actor Ercan Kesal like herself. The couple has a son named Poyraz. She has three siblings.

Childhood years: If she has a chance to go back to an age in the past and experience it again, he chooses her childhood period. “I had such a beautiful childhood! In a family of grandparents, I grew up in a spiral of love. For this reason, 8-9 years old is very precious for me and the memory of those years is very strong in me. I was born and raised in town. My childhood was my first youth in Köprübaşı (Manisa) Town. Childhood is the best and purest time of life. We are four siblings. Despite our poverty, I had a very happy childhood. Our summer would pass by the stream. I dreamed with the sound of a flowing stream. I see Nazan, who cuts her own hair, is cheerful, playful, mischievous, does not get off without eating mulberries until the stomach aches from the mulberry tree. Even now I listen to the sound of the stream. ”

Education life: After completing primary and high school in Manisa, she completed her higher education in 1991 at Izmir Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Theater – Acting.

Career: After completing her education, she moved to Istanbul and took part in TV series, cinema and commercial films. She worked as an actor and director at Diyarbakır State Theaters General Directorate between 1996 and 2004. She was appointed to Bursa State Theater at the beginning of 2004, and worked in private communities such as Ankara Art House Theater, Theater Mirror, Theater Istanbul, Diyarbakır Art Center. She completed her master’s degree at the Cinema TV department of Beykent University.

First step to acting: She started hiertelevision adventure with the series “Super Dad”.

With which project did it shine? It drew attention with the character of ‘Meryem’ in the ‘Lost City’ series.

Memories that she can’t forget: She can’t forget the memory she lived on the set of ‘Shadow Play’, the first movie she worked with Şener Şen and Yavuz Turgul. “I had just arrived in Istanbul. I was lucky because I worked with masters in my first movie. Yavuz Turgul, Şener Şen, Şevket Altuğ. “Shadow Play” was the best offer to an idealist player. I had just graduated. I never knew the pitch. Theater education occasionally creates trouble for the cinema. Cinema loves the minimal scale of emotions and expressions. As an actress who does not know this, after 20 repetitions on the first day of the film, my blood pressure fell out of excitement and anxiety that I could not, I loved it. Yavuz Turgul and Şener Şen explained their expectations from the role with great patience, but it did not happen. Because I had memorized my own role in the discipline of the theater and I was playing big. Yavuz Bey canceled the set that day. He said to me, “Come without thinking anything, you will do it tomorrow. You have taken your role very seriously and you have enlarged it in your eyes, it will be if you take off your tension. ” Indeed, the scene was in the first shot the next day. It was a movie I loved very much. It was the first lesson I had in the cinema for me.

Personality traits: Expressive, observer, cheerful, ambitious, hardworking, sharing.

Social: She swims when she has no job, takes a walk and shop her house.

Mindset: She doesn’t want to be known, her biggest goal is to do her job properly. “Our job is a job we do to the audience, we are people standing in the window. By nature, of course, we are faced with the concepts of being known and being recognized through the audience. When you do the job correctly, there is no harm in reaching the audience, but the people who do this job, who are actors, are out of this purpose; In other words, they do some work in order to be more popular, to be more known, to become more famous and not only to do the job properly, but also the work produced by such people is obviously not very exciting. In this sense, although this seems like a trap of our business, managing it is something that the player has. So we do a job to the audience, but the applause in the audience is actually our very big trap. Because the higher the applause, the applause that will make you feel very good. But there is never a concept of “being good” which is inherent in this business. Whatever I play, it is absolutely missing; that character had to do extra features that had to be added and added. ”

How’s someone on the set? When the project proposal arrives, it does not say ‘no’ by looking at the roles and looks at the whole work. “Sometimes I like the role, but I don’t like that picture in the whole, I don’t like the big picture. So even if I like the role, I don’t want to be in that big picture. So, of course, my values are what stop me here. If I get an unwritten character offer in a project that I like very much, I would say “yes” to that character because I think I have the courage to put it in another way. I work there with the director, complete the shortcomings of the character with her. Also, we always have the logic of memorization, as long as you memorize it, you are successful in exams, etc. In fact, this is also the acting. So many things are taught, like, “Did you memorize this job is ok!” The easiest part of this job is to memorize it. However, you are going to sit and remember. It’s not memorizing, it’s not playing memorization either. The point is to have a new birth there that surprises you and the author. ”

Happiness: It is a happiness to be doing what she likes. “If a person does his favorite job, he will not be unhappy. Stanley Kubrick said, “The luckiest people in the world can turn their hobbies into work.” This is also true for me. ”

First feature film: Yavuz Turgul / Shadow Play

Definition of love: Her husband was overcome at first sight. She says she was impressed by her smiling and brightness. “Love lasts for years if you want, if there is mutual admiration, passion, respect, love and care in the relationship, it is called love.”

Life attitude: Enough to have enough money to live. She believes that more than will poison man. “I am satisfied with the life I live. If you say imagine other things, I would have liked to “have enough money to end the wars in the world”. It is better to imagine that no one is dead than to live in luxury. ”

Business perspective: She thinks she has a mission in life as an actor. “We shouldn’t just be screen faces or people who memorize the tirade and come on the scene, our responsibility is big. I think we have a lot to say to this world through those characters. Actually, we are spirit workers. The figure skating part of the job is none of my business. I think we have contributed to people’s emotions in this world to find their own values and meanings. Admiring me or being crowned as an actor concerns the audience, not me. I’m not concerned with how I reflect, but whether I’m playing right. ”

Career plan: Working with directors like Nuri Bilge Ceylan and Zeki Demirkubuz has strengthened the perspective of cinema. “Working with them has fed me a lot, taking part in their movies has strengthened my sense that cinema is a true art. If you leave me today, I’m still chasing an art film, but right now maybe some things I want in a little more gold tray. This does not mean that I work with a very experienced director, I do not work with another person, this is not it. I would work with that director if she made her first film, but I expect a script that knows what she wants, and the display language that knows what she wants. Because making cinema is a very laborious job. Your night and day are mingling with each other and you are not really making money. I am not saying these because I did not earn money, and what if I do not win? But that movie you make a contribution to Turkey cinema, this is my take something more valuable than money, in the event I’m looking at it. ”

Imagination of the Future : There are things that she says ‘No problem,’ rather than dreams. “There are some actors, for example, in world cinema,” What would be nice if I also play with it? “I said: Juliette Binoche, Isabelle Huppert; if she was alive, like Marlon Brando, Anthony Quinn. Their auras and their energies seem special to me. I don’t know the two of them because they passed away but with the other two, is it certain, maybe I will play, the world is small. ”

Concerns: of today’s Turkey, both cultural and social, economic and political sense considering whether a country inhabited by people very happy. She wants this to change a lot. “It shouldn’t be too utopian to imagine a country where everyone is happy. But it seems a bit difficult in this real policy. And unfortunately there is not much to resist in this society. Nobody wants to be poor. When you resist you have to waive many things. You do not choose the side of the strong and you become more lonely and at the same time desperate. People with a higher level of education, or more awareness, show that resistance, but the rest of them move in parallel with the wheel. I don’t want to talk pessimist because I still have hope at all costs! The sun is reborn every day.

Who does she admire? She admires Isabelle Huppert’s acting.

Bedside novel: She loves poetry, and she reads a poem by Gülten Akın and Iranian poet Füruğ Ferruhzad every day.

Relationship with nature: If she has time, she walks in nature. “Walking like therapy for me. I have been away from books for a while. We built a life in Urla, I miss our home. If I could go to Urla, I can empty my head there. I rest when I spend time with my son and Ercan. ”

What does she do at home? She enjoys cooking. In her remaining time, she spends time in the kitchen. ”

Which movie was she influenced by? A job she might want to be in the ‘Album’ movie. In addition, she can watch Western films broadcast on TRT 1 that she thinks are untimely. Another movie she loves very much is “The Cost of Captivity”.
