Olgun Toker was born on March 12, 1986 in Mersin. Turkish TV series, cinema and theater actor.
Name: Olgun Toker
Date of Birth: March 12, 1986
Place of Birth: Mersin
Height: 1.80 m.
Weight: 77 kg
Eye color brown
Family: The son of a captain father and a housewife mother. His childhood passed in Adana. “I can say that my childhood passed on the Mersin-Adana line and on ships. I’m a complete family addict. They always stood behind me. If they didn’t believe in my dreams so much, I probably wouldn’t have dared to leave the university I won in Istanbul and take the conservatory exams. ”
The period of his life: During his high school years, he was drawing a weekly caricature in a regional newspaper in Mersin. His intention was to be an artist. “I won the Archives Department at Marmara University. I went to school four times in total, three of them were to sell theater tickets. I was always seeing the Müjdat Gezen Theater when I was going to school. I had worked before but never thought of becoming a professional. I joined the theater team when I entered the university; I was having a lot of fun. One day, Mustafa Üstündağ came to the team to build a work shop. He took my hand, he mastered it. He prepared for the conservatory exams. I won the Müjdat Gezen Art Center. I owe a lot to Müjdat Gezen Art Center. Müjdat Gezen, Mustafa Alabora, Savaş Dinçel; I cannot describe their value or meaning for us MSM members. By saying “a good person becomes a better player”, they first taught us about the good, the beautiful and the peace.
Education life: He graduated from Müjdat Gezen Art Center Theater Department.
First step into acting: He started his television adventure with the character ‘Taner’ in the series ‘Son’ (The End) in 2012.
With which project did he shine? He drew attention with the character “Mahir”, which he portrayed in the “Hayat Şarkısı” (Flames Of Desire) series.
Mindset: He doesn’t care much about fame. He thinks his profession is team work. “Even though acting is actually something done with 80-90 people, it seems like one. It works well with the math of 90 people. Good work gets a lot of audience. Too many spectators means too many people watching you. He knows you because he sees it on TV when he goes out on the street. If you realize that this is something that happens to you, this is something that can happen. ”
First motion picture: Ahmet Haluk Ünal / Saklı Hayatlar
The look at love: “For me, love is like everything turned upside down. You are suddenly turned upside down. I think it’s not love anyway, if that’s not the case. If the person tries to change the person they love in another direction, that love situation changes. Love is a very changeable thing. My 20-year-old definition of love is very different now. I haven’t settled on a definition of love in my life. But I know something messed up. I guess love is not something popular. It doesn’t happen with age. If I am going to marry, I will marry. Of course there is a logic in love. Why would you let someone turn your life upside down for no reason? ”
His view of life: He thinks that good will is very important in life. “Let’s keep our good intentions in life. I think it is enough, let’s listen to the other person well, let’s be a good person. I want to continue doing what I have enjoyed all my life. ”
His view of business life: He has no rules in acting, he does whatever the story requires. “The emergence of a character begins with the script, then the director takes over. Behind the characters I play, there is a production team of at least 80 people. If people like it after a scene we exhibit, I am not alone enough to be happy about it. It’s a team work. Actually, good or bad character is understood on the way. The audience determines the righteous and the wrong according to their own justice; It builds empathy. In other words, the audience decides whether the character is bad or good. I have no rules in acting. If we serve the stage, what will happen if I get undressed. If the scriptwriter and director want me to get undressed, I will if there is such a situation in the story. You don’t get undressed on the bus for no reason. If he says he played Hamlet, a human being is technically playing a gay. So I play. ”
Career plan: His biggest dream is to make a movie about football. He did not stop drawing either, there are things he wants to do with what he draws. “I also want to put my drawings together. If I’m going to play a character, I draw a face of it first. How is his eyebrow, how is his mustache, what kind of jacket should be on it. While you are talking to someone on the phone, you are black on the one hand. When I think of the character, I immediately start to scratch involuntarily. I want to see what’s in my head. It is the indispensable reel of acting schools, acting from inside to outside, from outside to inside, from top to bottom. When I read the character, I see its shell. What is this man’s type like, what is he wearing, what does he eat? Because we will see it there first, the story will begin when we see it. Appearance tells us inside. You can also play with the math of the face when you draw. Melih, whom I played in Karadayı, was a more decent boy. When I was playing the psychopath in Şeref Meselesi (Matter of Respect), I drew a different visual. Mahir, on the other hand, is a tougher, angular character who grew up in ghettos. ”
Unforgettable memory: He cannot forget a memory he had with Sezen Aksu when he starred in the TV series “Hayat Şarkısı”. “One day I am resting at home, my phone rang, I did not open a number that I do not know, I already had a girlfriend with me. I looked at your Whatsapp profile, it is using a cat profile, I did not open it. Then a message came: “Olgun hi, I am Sezen, a singer woman.” My girlfriend saw the message and said, “Who is this, from the bar or something?” I said “Sezen is Aksu, that is Sezen”, I am joking. I called back, it was really. She watched the TV series “Hayat Şarkısı” and called it very admirably, it made me very proud. Sezen Aksu, like our producer, Mustafa Bey, thought I lived in Germany.
Who does he admire? “I am a fan of Münir Özkul, İhsan Yüce, Kemal Sunal, Şener Şen, Settar Tanrıöğen, Nadir Sarıbacak. There are many names that I missed counting, for sure, I am sorry. The stories and characters of these lands are nowhere to be found. It is only necessary to explain and explain without fogging. ”
What would happen if he wasn’t an actor? If he wasn’t an actor, he would draw or want to be a footballer. “I wonder what it would be like to be a footballer, what happened during that show in front of 80 thousand people seem very excited to me. Other than that, I would also like to be a comic artist. ”
What does he enjoy the most? He loves football. Watching football for a long time.
