Burçin Terzioğlu, who gave life to the character of “Deniz” in the “Yalancı” series broadcast on Show TV, gave an interview to Hakan Gence from the Hürriyet Newspaper.
Burçin Terzioğlu, who shared the lead role with Salih Bademci in the series Yalancı and portrayed a woman who was harassed, made striking statements about her business and private life.
“My life is made of mistakes, losses, successes, defeats, falls, rises; Terzioğlu said, “If I had the opportunity right now, I wouldn’t change anything in my life, I wouldn’t give up on that experience and what I learned. I’m really curious about what’s next,” she said.
The actress explained how she prepared for Yalancı series with the following words; “I researched women who had somehow experienced something similar to this situation. How many voices were heard, how many cases were concluded in their favour. There are very sad consequences there. It was harder to bear the burden of that emotion than to stay in that emotion, she. Deniz is such a real woman. With her symptoms, her naturalness, her sincerity… Even thinking about what happened to her hurts a lot.”
So, has Burçin Terzioğlu ever been exposed to any behavior against her will? “If it is in a sense similar to what Deniz experienced, it is ‘no’. But in the past years, when I was still naive and unaware that this was a crime, I was subjected to mobbing and verbal abuse on the sets. Because of our silence, people overstepped their boundaries and normalized it. It is no longer and should not be. ”
The side that I want to create awareness the most; Whether a woman is newly divorced, wears red lipstick, wears a miniskirt, or laughs at the man, it should be known that this does not mean that she has allowed or deserved rape, abuse.
Of course, it is very difficult for ignorant, brazen and impossible to stand by mindsets to empathize with people who think like us and this series. Under the comments, “You took the man home, you had drinks together, what did you expect? There was a Twitter user who wrote “You deserved it Deniz”. I don’t know what to say. We will stand tall, fight and that spider-stricken mentality will change!”
I really lie a little. In order not to offend the one in front of me. Because I try to stay away from environments that will require me to lie and people who cannot handle the truth. Sometimes I can be tactlessly realistic. The most serious lie I’ve ever told, I told someone who couldn’t get better that her health is getting better and that everything will be fine for a long time. It did not happen.”
