Kubilay Aka played one of the most important roles of his career. The famous actor, who starred in the movie Zaferin Rengi (The Color of Victory), is coming to the cinema with the story of the national struggle, one of the most important periods in Turkish history.
It will be quite enjoyable to watch Kubilay Aka in a powerful story in which the stones of the occupation of Istanbul and the subsequent struggle for liberation are laid.
Kubilay Aka, one of the star actors of the new generation, plays Galip Bey (Galip Kulaksızoğlu), the founding member and legendary captain of Fenerbahçe Sports Club.
Galip Bey, who served as captain, coach and president of Fenerbahçe Sports Club between 1907 and 1924, is one of the biggest stars of Turkish football with his football intelligence, superior playing technique, daring, agile and never-giving-up team game approach.
During the years of the national struggle, Galip Bey, in a match against the occupation forces, was greatly appreciated by the sports community of the period for continuing the game and winning the match, even though he was hit hard on the head by a kick from the opposing side when he bent over the ball and fell to the ground covered in blood.
Kubilay Aka, who had the chance to take part in such an important role, explained how important a source of pride it was for him with the following words:
“I am giving life to a legendary character who should be taken as an example in history. That’s why I try to express it in a very respectful way when I explain it. It is a great chance for us to be able to portray such characters and touch the past. That’s why I’m honored. “When I portray Mr. Galip, I only feel a sense of pride.”
Master director Abdullah Oğuz is the director of the movie Zaferin Rengi, which will be released on February 16.
Zaferin Rengi will take the audience back to Istanbul a century ago with its acting, decor, make-up and costume designs.
