Two brothers, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, decide to adopt a boy from the orphanage to help with their farm. This girl, Anne’s family, died when she was only a few months old, and Anne has worked as a maid in different families until now.
While Matthew wants Anne to stay, Marilla does not trust Anne because she is a useless and orphaned girl. Upon a mistake, they send Anne back to the orphanage. Later, they realize their terrible mistake and try to find Anne. When Anne starts living with the Cuthbert siblings, she is ostracized by her schoolmates and neighbors in their neighborhood. But Anne overcomes all difficulties thanks to her intelligence, problem-solving ability and imagination.
