Master director Ferzan Özpetek’s new project, Istanbul Trilogy: Meze – Müzik – Muhabbet, consisting of three short films about his love for Istanbul and Turkish gastronomy, will meet the cinema audience in Turkey for the first time within the scope of the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival! The screenings of the trilogy, which met with the audience in Italy in October, will take place on 20-21 and 22 April as part of the N Kolay Galas section of the festival.
Istanbul Trilogy: Meze – Müzik – Muhabbet, starring names such as Ahsen Eroğlu, Serra Yılmaz, Ayta Sözeri, Aslı İnandık, Burak Yamantürk, Yiğit Kirazcı and Kubilay Aka, brings both the beauty and the rich and deep-rooted table culture of Istanbul to the big screen.
The new project of world-famous director Ferzan Özpetek, who lives in Italy but always maintains a strong bond with Turkey and says “My heart beats for two cities: Rome and Istanbul”, consists of three short films.
“I have always witnessed beautiful people laughing, crying, joyful and sad, sharing life at the conversation tables set by my mother and father at home, and in the conversations around that table. “That’s why I wanted to tell the world about this rich and deep-rooted table culture,” said Özpetek, who brings together the unique beauty of Istanbul and the richness of taste on the tables with the audience in the trilogy for which he wrote the script.
Meze, the first film of the Istanbul Trilogy, stars Ahsen Eroğlu, Serra Yılmaz, Ayta Sözeri, Aslı İnandık. While Burak Yamantürk and Yiğit Kirazcı are in the leading roles of Muzik, Kubilay Aka takes the leading role in Muhabbet. The Istanbul Trilogy, which was shot in Istanbul and Rome, was produced by Erhan Güven (TORK) and Ender Sevim (Depo Film).
Istanbul Trilogy: Meze – Müzik – Muhabbet, which was released in Italy in October, will now be screened in Turkey as part of the N Kolay Galas section of the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival. After the first screening at Atlas 1948 with the participation of the film crew on Saturday, April 20 at 21.30, the trilogy will be at Kadıköy Cinema on Sunday, April 21 at 21.30; It will meet moviegoers at Cinewam City’s 7 on Monday, April 22nd at 19.00.
