Education life: After being satisfied with Yunus Emre College, she completed her education at Izmir Dokuz Eylul University Fine Arts Faculty Theater Acting Department.
The turning point of her career: She was recognized by a wide audience with the TV series Vatanım Sensin. In the series, she played a Greek mother who lost her child. “The costume designer of the show, Gamze Kuş, is a classmate that I love very much, and I learned from her thanks to her. I gave an audition for the character of ‘Veronika’. I had a lot of support from dear Nermin Eroğlu, the audition was appreciated and we started. We did some reading rehearsals for my accent before the set, then we did one-on-one exercises with Ayşe Gülsevin Tamer, a Greek literature lecturer. During the shooting process on the set, we often met with Ms. Ayşe.”
The first step into acting: She started her television adventure in 2000 with the TV series “Karakolda Ayna Var”
Which project did it shine with? She drew attention with her character “Veronika” in the TV series “Vatanım Sensin”.
Personality traits: She defines herself as someone who tries to live happily, peacefully, virtuously, morally, and likes to share, learn, have fun, and laugh.
Source of happiness: She is happy to be from Izmir. “İzmir is a comfortable city compared to Istanbul, there is no traffic problem, it is calm and has a nice climate. All of these inevitably have an effect on the human body. The people of Izmir are more positive, smiling, warmer and calmer. I have been in Istanbul for a long time and I can say that I got used to this rhythm. There are events in İzmir that I cannot forget. For example, we are the first class of Barış Erdenk to graduate with our school activities on the week of March 27, our premiere celebration in the foyer of the school, the whole school having fun with live music. There is a phenomenon called Barış Erdenk events at our school… I think it’s a long conversation topic. I love my teachers very much, I miss my student years in Izmir very much. Life was better when I was a student, it is beautiful now, it was beautiful then. I enjoy being with my grandmother the most in İzmir, in Karşıyaka. Bostanli is a place that I miss very much. I miss every part of our destroyed school next to the stadium in Alsancak. Her garden, the smell of her corridor. There was a truck park in the back. I miss every moment I spent at the meatball shop in the truck park.”
First feature film: Özer Feyzioğlu/ Cep Herkülü: Naim Süleymanoğlu
Perspective on business life: She loves her job and still carries the excitement of the first day. “As someone who has not fully figured out what acting is like, in my professional life where my excitement and curiosity is increasing day by day, my friends who aim to act, try to get to know themselves more, stay in touch with nature, get to know the country they live in, the people of the country, and of course read lots of serials I recommend watching movies and games. Those who are curious about acting should have a Stanislavski bedside book, and Eric Morris is also an important resource, but I think the methods should be tried with an educator.”
Future Dream: “My biggest dream is to raise a conscientious, moral, happy, free and loving child, and of course to accumulate happy memories.”
Concerns: She finds the harsh working conditions in TV shows worrying. “The duration of the series is too long, which forces the working conditions and affects the quality of the work. A lot of work falls on the producers and of course the actors who make big money from this work. Everyone should take responsibility and aim for more reasonable profits, otherwise we will continue to watch long looks and inconsistent stories so that the series will lengthen. On the other hand, the situation of the set worker is worse than anyone else. This means that they work without sleep, without permission, without repos. I think it’s a more severe result.”
What does she do at home? “If there is no rehearsal or act, I will prepare breakfast for Deniz at 7 am and drop her off at school. My plans change according to my situation, if the weather is cold, I have seasonal TV shows and I finish them. Accumulating movies etc. If the weather is good, I usually go to Moda and be with my friends. At 4 o’clock the boy comes, we do her homework. It is absolutely necessary to sit down for dinner at 6. It is necessary to be together at dinner. At 8:30, Deniz sleeps, and I usually go to bed early. I think it is both healthy and more planned when you go to bed early and wake up early. When it comes to rehearsal or set, the situation is different, of course.”
Favorite book: Vedat Türkali’s two-volume work ‘Güven’.
Favorite movies: ‘Blue Jasmine’ and ‘Movie Manchester By The Sea’.
What kind of music does she like to listen to? Nick Cave’s ‘Red Right Hand’ is the familiar yet fun ‘Hard to Handle’. Radiohead generally all tracks. I love Kalben’s “Saçlar” song. Selda Bagcan is amazing. Evrencan Gunduz, Deniz Tekin. Music is always on at home, on the road, at work.
