The ratings of the Fox TV series, which was adapted from the South Korean series Innocent Defendant and made a great debut with the name Mahkum (Prisoner) last season, reveal a great collapse. The series, which attracted millions of viewers when it first started, revealed such a successful story that no one could remain indifferent to it.
When the magnificent performance of Onur Tuna and İsmail Hacıoğlu was added to this, the Mahkum series made one of the most ambitious debuts of the last season. In fact, the ratings rose to double digits for a while, and being one of the top 3 shows of the last season made Mahkum fans proud.
But everything happened when the story of the original series ended and the need to continue with the patch story emerged. When the separation of the leading actress such as Seray Kaya was added to this, the collapse of the Mahkum series began. Even a very influential actor like Talat Bulut’s participation in the series had a negative impact, not a positive one.
Despite the falling ratings towards the end of the first season of the Mahkum series, the fans were very pleased that the second season was approved. In fact, the news that there was a great change in the sense of the scenario in the summer period, and the participation of brand new and ambitious names in the series increased the excitement.
Indeed, the story of the second season of the series was very different. Uğraş Güneş wanted to impress the audience with the changes he made in the script, but this result did not come out. New to the series; New characters came along with Gökçe Eyüboğlu, Seda Türkmen, Nazlı Bulum, Mehmet Bozdoğan, Mine Kılıç, Sarp Aydınoğlu, Cem Söküt and Erdal Küçükkömürcü.
However, all these efforts did not find enough response in the audience. When the original story ended and the appeal of the story, which was brought as a patch, disappeared, the Mahkum series fell out of favor.
The expectation that it would be very effective in the second season was not realistic. With the 27th episode of the series, it even fell below the ratings that an ordinary series can get.
The Mahkum series, which could not even be among the top 10 programs, was able to take the eleventh place in all people, thirteenth in the AB and fourteenth in the ABC1 category with its episode on September 29.
This serious problem in the ratings was also on the agenda in social media. Many series fans shared comments stating that they did not like the second season and that it was a mistake to continue.

Even the effective performances of Onur Tuna and İsmail Hacıoğlu were not enough to attract the audience to the series Mahkum. It is not known whether Fox TV’s final decision will come, but the end of the road seems close for the Prisoner series.
This situation, which won the first place with Destan at the International Seoul Drama Awards, has made its fans very unhappy. There doesn’t seem to be much that can be done at the point of re-interesting the series.
